More than 30 vendors expected at Tortola’s World Food Day fair

Today’s market at Noel Lloyd Positive Action Movement Park begins with a 10 a.m. ceremony, local producers and practical food demonstrations.

UPDATEUpdated October 17: The scheduled October 16 market has passed, so the event alert was retired. This article remains as context; no attendance or outcome is inferred without a post-event agency report.

Tortola’s 2026 World Food Day Market and Food Fair is taking place Friday, October 16, at Noel Lloyd Positive Action Movement Park, with an official ceremony scheduled for 10 a.m. The Agriculture and Fisheries Department says more than 30 vendors are expected.

The market is set to bring together farmers, fishers, agro-processors, schools and local food and juice providers. This year’s theme, Innovate Today, Nourish Tomorrow, focuses the event on food production, practical skills and the territory’s food security.

H. Lavity Stoutt Community College’s Culinary and Hospitality Studies programme is scheduled to lead a demonstration on preservation and value-added food products. The government release also names GreenVI and Steakation Butchers among the demonstration participants.

The department is encouraging the public to arrive early, shop from local producers and take part in the day’s activities. The October 15 release does not publish a closing time or ticket requirement, so visitors should check the official notice and any same-day government update before setting out.
