Choose the return first
Check your operator’s return terminal, date and check-in instructions. Different ferry routes can arrive at different parts of St. Thomas, so the boat that leaves latest may not be the best choice for your accommodation or onward connection.
Save the current operator link and your booking reference. A timetable describes planned service; it does not track cancellations, seat availability or the time it will take your group to board. Recheck the day’s service before leaving the dock.
Turn the sailing into a pickup plan
Ask the driver how much road travel to allow from your chosen beach, then add the operator’s ticketing and boarding allowance. Agree the pickup place and contact method. Do not subtract only the crossing time from an onward deadline.
If your group needs extra time for changing, packing equipment or mobility assistance, include it before the taxi arrives. Ask whether the vehicle will be shared and whether other stops may affect the journey.
Set a clear rule for the last activity
Make the final meal, shop or second beach optional. If an earlier part of the day runs late, remove that stop instead of shrinking the return allowance. Share the agreed leaving time with everyone in your group before going into the water.
When a cruise ship or flight sets the deadline, confirm the boarding instructions with the crew or airline. Ask your transport provider whether the outing is practical. WelcomeToVI’s planner and public schedules cannot verify or guarantee that connection.
If the plan changes
Contact the ferry operator and your next transport provider promptly. Check available alternatives directly before traveling to another dock; a route name alone does not confirm a sailing. Keep enough flexibility for an interrupted trip, especially when separate bookings are involved.
- Return route and arrival dock saved.
- Beach pickup and meeting point agreed.
- Operator and driver contacts available offline.
- Optional final stop dropped if the day runs late.
