Walk for Hope invites the territory to move together

A series of community walks planned for September will bring attention to suicide prevention, connection and behavioral-health support.

The V.I. Department of Health’s Behavioral Health Division is inviting residents to join Walk for Hope events across the territory during September, which is recognized as Suicide Prevention Awareness Month.

The walks are designed to make support visible and community-centered. Public events can help reduce stigma, encourage conversation and remind residents that asking for help is an act of strength.

Residents should confirm island-specific dates, meeting points and participation guidance with the Department of Health before attending. Anyone facing an immediate mental-health crisis in the United States can call or text 988.
