Vester Gade paving schedule has ended; completion remains unconfirmed

The announced September 14–16 closure window is over, but Public Works has not posted a dated notice confirming that work is complete or normal traffic has resumed.

UPDATEUpdated Sept. 17: The announced three-day closure window has ended. The active traffic alert was removed because Public Works has not published a dated extension or completion notice.

The V.I. Department of Public Works scheduled Vester Gade beside Jane E. Tuitt Elementary School to close from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. September 14–16 for milling and related road repairs. That announced window has now ended.

Public Works had not posted a dated completion notice or extension on its official news page Thursday morning. WelcomeToVI has therefore removed the active road-closure alert without claiming that the project is finished or that every traffic restriction has been lifted.

Contractor Grace Civil, LLC was expected to complete the work September 16, but construction schedules can change because of weather or field conditions. Drivers should follow current signs and traffic-control directions near the school and check Public Works' channels for any new restriction.

SUGGESTED IMPROVEMENT

Public Works should issue a dated completion notice confirming the road's status and identify any remaining work or traffic controls.
