The University of the Virgin Islands Board of Trustees approved a $92.5 million budget for fiscal year 2027 during its October 17 regular meeting.
UVI's official meeting notice said the Finance and Budget Committee would report on audit progress, government allotments, operating performance, restricted funds and investments before the board considered the operating and capital-project budgets.
The same agenda placed the financial action alongside an evidence-based institutional planning proposal focused on academic quality, student success, financial sustainability and strategic growth. Trustees also were scheduled to consider governance policies developed in response to the Middle States Commission on Higher Education show-cause process.
Board approval establishes UVI's internal spending plan; it does not by itself show that every government allotment or other projected dollar has been received. The university's published financial reports and future audit updates will be needed to track implementation.
UVI should publish the adopted fiscal-year 2027 resolution and a plain-language breakdown of operating, capital, restricted and government-supported funds, followed by quarterly budget-to-actual updates.
