Tropical wave brings storms and localized flood risk Wednesday

NWS lists no active USVI watches or warnings this morning, but lightning, strong gusts and minor to isolated flash flooding remain possible.

A tropical wave is bringing showers and thunderstorms to the U.S. Virgin Islands on Wednesday, October 7, according to the National Weather Service in San Juan.

NWS warns of lightning, strong wind gusts and minor flooding with isolated flash flooding. Secure loose outdoor items, avoid flooded roads and monitor official updates if conditions worsen near your location.

A moderate rip-current risk is also in effect. Choose a guarded or more protected beach and swim near a lifeguard.

NWS listed no active watches, warnings or advisories for the USVI at the morning verification time. That status can change as the wave moves through the region.
