Senators approve FY2027 budget package and send operating bill to governor

The Virgin Islands Legislature approved its fiscal year 2027 budget package on September 25. St. Thomas Source reports that the overall package was described as nearly $958 million, including a $739.2 million General Fund operating appropriation.

Separate allocations include $34.1 million for University of the Virgin Islands salaries and expenses, $66.5 million for hospital operations and $32.5 million for Waste Management Authority operations.
