WAPA reports Cabrita Point repairs complete; St. John backup work continues

WAPA chief Karl Knight told the authority's September 24 board meeting that repairs to the Cabrita Point Distribution Circuit were complete. According to the Virgin Islands Consortium, energizing the backup connection was expected that evening; the report does not independently confirm final energization.

Four 2.5-megawatt standby generators have arrived in the territory. Their combined 10-megawatt capacity becomes available after installation and commissioning, previously projected for completion by January 2027.

Knight also said Great Bay transmission-line repairs were progressing, with completion targeted before year-end. These are reported project targets, not guarantees of uninterrupted service.
